Caring for the Dementia and Disabled Seniors Special Project of the Red Cross Society of Pudong New Area Kicked Off

On the afternoon of July 2, the kick-off ceremony of Weifang New Residential Quarters Neighborhood Old Pal Healthy Life Center, a Red Cross special project of the Red Cross Society of Pudong New Area aiming to care for the dementia and disabled seniors, was held in Weifang community. Ding Chaoying, Executive Vice President of the Red Cross Society of Pudong New Area, Han Jiebing, Deputy Director of Pudong New Area Civil Affairs Bureau, along with Jiang Rui, Director of Weifang New Residential Quarters Neighborhood Office, together unveiled the plaque of “Old Pal” Healthy Life Center.

The Old Pal Healthy Life Center provides services dedicated to the dementia and disabled seniors aged 60 or above in the respective jurisdiction areas, offering safe, professional and effective rehabilitation training, as well as free services to seniors of particularly impoverished households. The Life Center’s service items take into consideration of the seniors’ physical conditions to make scientific and rational assessment and analysis, and draft well-developed health management solutions. Han Jiebing said the Red Cross Society of Pudong New Area’s special project to care for the dementia and disabled seniors correspond exactly to the government’s requirement in helping and aiding seniors’ livelihood work, and it will be popularized in other communities in Pudong New Area.
